Fausto Meini
Born in Livorno on 08-30-67
He has always been passionate about photos, but only in 2012 did he buy the first Nikon Entry Level Reflex, this passion made him overcome difficult moments at a family level.Self-taught, he begins to publish his first shots on various digital photography forums.In 2014, pushed by friends, he enrolled in a photographic group and continues to broaden his knowledge of the subject, following and participating in various workshops of nationally renowned photographers.
He was born as a landscape photographer, but over time he begins to tackle other genres such as Still Life, Portrait, Naturalistics, Reportage and also begins to take an interest in the infrared theme by modifying an old Reflex.
In 2017 in Marina di Ravenna he exhibited his works for the first time in the exhibition “The souls of the landscape” where he also presented images created in infrared.
In the meantime, always pushed by friends, he begins to participate in the FIAF national and international FIAP competitions, after some initial disappointments, many prizes begin to arrive, including a selection in the Italian national team at the World Cup for Prints at the FIAP Biennale in Spain where he receives a prize and thanks to another prize obtained from a team colleague, he puts the Italian Federation (FIAF) on the podium in 3rd place.
In 2019 the most important step, where he leaves his job in the Company, to devote himself totally to photography, becoming a Professional Photographer and joining the Nikon Professional Service. The work also leads him to travel abroad to create workshops and photographic trips in collaboration with a photographic travel agency.
In 2020, before and during the pandemic, he began to produce Reports requested by various institutions such as the Delta Park, on Clam Fishing in the Po Delta and on Eel Fishing in the Comacchio Valleys.
In the meantime he made other Reportages on ancient crafts, Alabaster processing, Coal ironworks, The last charcoal burners, Pastoralism today and The life of a hermit shepherd.
In 2021 and 2022 his photos “Darkness Lady” and “In the fog” receive the first prize of equal merit in the FIAF Photo of the Year, he also boasts the first and second FIAF Star and always in the same year he receives the AFIAP International Honor (Artist of International Photography), while in 2022 for the results obtained in Italy he receives the EFIAF Honor (Excellence of Italian Photography). In 2023 he received EFIAF/b Honor (Excellence of Italian Photography Bronze) In 2024 received EFIAF/s Honor (Excellence of Italian Photography Silver) and the fourth FIAF star thanks to the number of photos admitted to FIAF National Contests.
In 2021 he began collaborating as assistant to the Director of the FIAP Club World Cup.
